With the theme of “a miracle of China, the small commodity hub of the world — Yiwu”, a series of publicity posters of the eastern Chinese city made brilliant appearances at New York's Times Square on Monday, attracting large amounts of visitors from all over the world.

In addition to the world’s major commercial intersection, posters of Yiwu China Commodities City and Yiwu China Import Commodity City also made debuts at 38 major airports of 31 countries of five continents on the sidelines of the ongoing China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

A city’s government official said that in the past two years, under China’s Belt and Road Initiative and its “Going-Out” development strategy, Yiwu is tapping into the international market in various ways.

The China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair, initiated in 2012, is another way to promote the city.
The fair, upgraded into a national-level exhibition in 2015, has been approved by the Union of international Fairs (UFI) as the first imported commodities fair in its list in 2016.
The 2017 Yiwu fair featured as many as 2,006 international standard booths covering an area of 50,000 square meters, attracting 1,518 exhibitors from over 100 countries and regions.

In the past several years, the fair has won titles of “China Top 10 Most Distinctive Fairs”, “Zhejiang Top 10 Brand Fairs”, and “China Top 10 Influential Fairs”.
Situated in the fifth district of International Trade Mart, the Yiwu China Imported Commodities Mall covers an area of 100,00 square meters. It is the largest imported daily articles trading center, dealing with all kinds of foods, healthcare, garments & shoes, daily use, household, skin care, baby care, jewelry & crafts, gathering 80,000 types of factory outlet goods from over 100 countries and regions.

Being the biggest daily-use commodities trade city in the world, Yiwu has attracted great number of domestic and foreign businessmen in “Yiwu economic circle”. Its advanced E-business network makes Yiwu as the second highest dense city of E-business in China.
As a hub city for the Belt and Road, Yiwu, connects the overland Silk Road Economic Belt to the West. Nine railway lines linking between Yiwu and 34 countries have been launched to provide freight train services between China and European countries.
Reputed as one of most popular Chinese cities, Yiwu receives more than 10 million global buyers annually, with more than 500,000 from foreign countries.
Currently, there are more than 5,300 organizations and corporations dealing with foreign-related affairs in the city, including about 2,200 foreign-funded partnership enterprises that account for 75 percent of the total in the country.
