APD | Filipino-American among 12 fatalities in Ventura shooting

MANILA, Nov. 9 (APD) – The Department of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences to the family of Alaina Punzalan Housley, an 18-year-old Filipino-American freshman enrolled at Pepperdine University.

Ms. Housley was among the 12 people killed in the shooting incident near Los Angeles late Wednesday evening (Thursday morning in Manila).

The information came from Los Angeles-based Consul General Adel Angelito Cruz who filed his report to the Home Office.

The incident took place some 40 minutes west of Los Angeles.  Consul General Cruz added they are still checking with local authorities if there are other members of the 25,879 Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in Ventura County who are among the dead and injured.
